The death of Oscar Williams, age 50, a prominent Greencastle resident occurred about 6 o’clock Monday morning at his home on Bloomington Street following a prolonged illness of complications of diseases. Mr. Williams had been in ill health for more than a year, his condition having been critical for the past week. Mr. Williams was engaged in the coal retail business at the time he was taken ill. He had always proved a successful business man. He was a member of the city council of Greencastle. Mr. Williams was a member of Greencastle Lodge No 348, IOOF, Crescent Rebekah Lodge, Temple Lodge No 47 FAM and Eastern Star. Besides his wife and little daughter, Maxine, the mother, Mrs. Eva Williams, ,two sisters, Hazel Williams of Indianapolis and Mrs. Charles Jacobs, Townsend, Mo and three brothers, Clyde, Paul and Lee of this city survive. The funeral was conducted in the Christian Church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock with Rev. Levi Marshall in charge of the services. Mr. Williams was a member of the Christian Church and was serving as a member of the official board at the time of his death. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.

The funeral of Oscar Williams whose death occurred Monday morning following a long illness was held in the Christian Church this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. Levi Marshall ? had charge of the services burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Mr. Williams was a prominent Greencastle resident having been engaged in the coal retail business for several years. He was also a member of the city council and served on the official board of the Christian Church of which he was a member. The pall bearers are: William Dittmore; G. Will Conklin; William Callahan; William Graves; Chester York and AG Brown. A quartet composed of Mrs. John Young, Mrs. Clay Brothers, Hober Ellis and Harry Moore sang. Among the out of town people here for the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fry and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fry of Kokomo; Mrs. Mary Woodrum of Cayuga and Mrs. Amanda Smith of Muncie.
