Raccoon news item – Mrs. Lizzie Williams passed from this
life to life eternal at her home near Fincastle Wednesday morning, Jan 9 1895
at 10 o’clock. Mrs. Williams was a little past 25 years old. She leaves a
husband and three little boys besides a host of friends to mourn her loss. She
united with the ME Church of his place a year ago and lived a consistent
Christian. She left such testimonials of
Christian faith as will ever be engraved upon the heart of those who saw and
heard her. She made all arrangements for her funeral, appointed the pall
bearers, requested her uncle, Jesse Fosher, of Roan to talk at the church over
the remains and Bro. Wood will preach the funeral when he returns from Florida.
She gave her little ones into the care of friends whom she wished to have them
and resigned herself to her Master’s will. Her family have the sympathy of the
entire community in their sad bereavement. – kbz
