WHITWORTH, Sallie M. Kercheval - Putnam

Mrs. Sallie M. Whitworth, wife of George W. Whitworth, an old time resident of Greencastle, died at Jeanerette, LA Jan 1, 1897, aged 60.  Mrs. Whitworth was well known by many people here and leaves a host of friends to mourn her death. She was a daughter of Edward R. Kercheval, a former sheriff of Putnam County and ex-postmaster of Greencastle and a sister of Mrs. Agnes Hite, National President of the Woman's Relief Corps. We have not learned where she was buried but presume at her southern home.   ---kbz
