Bryant, SD – Russell Whitted, 73, died Wednesday at Sioux Valley Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Russellville, Ind married Viola Phillips on Feb 15, 1928 and farmed in the Willow Lake SD area until moving to Everett, Wash in 1962. He worked there as a welder until he retired to Bryant where he opened a welding shop. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald, Everett, Merlin, Gillette, Wyo and Kenneth, Mabton, Wash; six daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Thelms) Froke, Sioux Falls; Vivian Jensen, Olivia, Minn; Mrs. Donald (Darlene) McMillan Sr, Everett; Mrs. Lee (Madonna) Maroon and Mrs. Frank (Carol) Nemac, both of Walla Walla, Wash and Mrs. Allan (Debra) Renwick, Ellensburg, Wash; two stepsisters, 23 grandchildren, six step grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Union Congregational Church, Bryant. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Osthus Funeral Home, Bryant. – kbz
