Levi Whitted, of Carpentersville, became dizzy while riding on a load of wood last Saturday which he was taking home and fell to the ground. One of the wheels of the wagon struck his head and almost completely scalped him. He was taken to his home and cared for but he never recovered from the shock, dying on Sunday morning. The deceased was 68 years of age and was one of the old residents of this county. He leaves a widow and several adult children. – kbz
