WAMPLER, Hazel Wright - Putnam

Bicknell – Hazel Wampler, 88 of Westphalia died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday at Freelandville Community Home in Freelandville.  Born Aug 5, 1908 in Putnamville, she was the daughter of Luther and Emma (Baker) Wright.  A cook at the Westphalia Grace School and at North Knox School System, Wampler was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. She married Ronald Wampler in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Surviving are two sons, Richard Wampler of Westphalia and Robert Wampler of Edwardsport; a sister, Verna Bowman of St. Joseph Ill and two grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home in Bicknell with Rev. Clyde Wake officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery at Westphalia. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday. – kbz
