WALLACE, Ruth - Putnam

October 24, 1942 - October 11, 2020

Ruth A. Wallace of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.  She was 77.

She was a member of the Roachdale Baptist Church and loved gospel music, especially the Gaithers.

Ruth was in the dietary department at Culver Hospital for 25 years.  She liked to feed and help people and did not like to see people go hungry.  She worked at the FISH Food Pantry to help feed others.  She liked to crochet. She also enjoyed sunflowers, cardinals and going to garage sales, looking for bargains and trying to get a good deal.  Most of all, she loved her family dearly.

Born Oct. 24, 1942 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of Eugene Weger and Mary Mills Weger.  She graduated from Paris High School, class of 1960.  She married Richard A. Wallace on Aug. 12, 1962 in Paris.  He survives.

She is survived by her loving family which includes: husband, Richard Wallace, Sr.; two daughters, Lori Wallace Bray (Tommy), Lynda Kay Wallace; son, Richard “Rich” Wallace, Jr. (Patti); four grandchildren, Sarah Hillery, Daniel Haniford, Josh Wallace, Erika Twitty; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Edie Hewitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and granddaughter, Rachael Haniford.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue.  Services will be Thursday at 11 AM, led by Pastor Chuck Callahan.  Burial will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
