Mrs. Mary Vice, widow of George Vice, died in the Putnam County Hospital on Monday, after a week’s illness. She was the daughter of John and Jane Spencer and was born near Browns Valley, April 9, 1863. She married George Vice and to them was born two daughters. One, Glee, is dead; the other Mrs. Joseph Pinkhard lives in Castleton. She was a sister of Miss Laura Spencer who taught in our schools so long, and an aunt of Mrs. A. C. Deere. For a time they lived on the farm now owned by Alva Hunsicker but most of their life was spent in Roachdale where she died (sic). Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Deere attended the funeral at the Roachdale Christian Church on Wednesday Morning. Burial in Hebron Cemetery    --- submittd by kbz

Mrs. Mary Frances Vice, widow of George Vice, died at Putnam Co. Hospital Monday morning at 7:00. She was born April 9, 1863, near Browns Valley, a daughter of John and Jane Spencer. She was a member of Roachdale Christian church. Survivors are a daughter; Mrs. Joe Pinkard of Castleton, a brother, James Spencer of Montezuma and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Chastain funeral home, with burial in Mt.
