VAUGHN, Eleanor

Died – Feb 10th, 1874 of old age, Mr. Vaughn aged 78 years after an illness of 3 weeks.

Note: Although this says Mr. Vaughn, believe it is Eleanor O’Bannon Vaughan buried New Providence, Mount Meridian – born 1795 Augusta County, Virginia died Feb 1874 Belle Union – this was on her findagrave entry - Eleanor O'Bannon was born in 1795 in Virginia to Benjamin and Eleanor (Ash) O'Bannon. Eleanor married Joseph Vaughan in Probably Augusta County, Virginia. By 1814, they moved west to Kentucky. They had 13 children, all of which were born and raised in either Garrard and Lincoln County. By 1864, after the death of her husband in 1863, her and much of her family moved north to Putnam County, Indiana near the towns of Mount Meridian and Belle Union. The widowed Mrs. Vaughan is shown in the 1870 census residing with her daughter Harriet and son-in-law William Stapp Bourne.
