Richard K. VANHOOK, 53, a resident of this community most of his life, died around noon Friday at Culver. His health had been poor for two years. Mr. VanHook was born April 19, 1896 at Greencastle, the son of Samuel and Martha VanHook. He was married in 1918 to Minnie Applegate of Russellville. Mr. VanHook was a member of the Waveland Christian Church and has for the past several years been employed at the Waveland Turkey Farms. Among those surviving are two sons: Russell of Waveland and Cleo of Indianapolis; two daughters, Naomi VanHook of Waveland and Mrs. Rose Burnett of Crawfordsville. He also leaves a brother, William of Indianapolis and a sister, Mrs. Mary Bibson of Greencastle and four grandchildren. Rev. Paul Osborn, pastor of the Waveland Christian Church officiated at the funeral which was held Sunday afternoon at the Machledt Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Brick Chapel Cemetery near Greencastle. - kbz
