Funeral services for James Hunly Vanhook, 70, who died at his home Saturday in Russellville, were held at the Chastain funeral home Monday, with burial in Portland Mills cemetery. Mr. Vanhook was born in Lincoln county, Kentucky May 4, 1873, a son of Samuel H. and Martha Ashley Vanhook. He married June 27, 1897, to Laura Quinton, who survives in Greencastle. Survivors besides the widow are three daughters; Mrs. John Kessinger, Fincastle, Mrs. Frank Cockrell, and Mrs. Volley Widiner both of Lafayette, one son Pvt Audrey Vanhook, U.S. Army, Springfield, Missouri. One son, Bradley is deceased, brothers Henry, Akron, Ohio, Edward, Russellville, Richard, Ladoga, sisters; Mrs. Jean Carl, Frankfort, Mrs. Oscar Norman, Paoli, and Mrs. Henry Gibson, Bainbridge.    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituaries with us on this site - greatly appreciated !!
