At 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon occurred the death of Mrs. Josephine S. Turman after a brief acute illness, though she had been in failing health for some months with a complication of diseases. Mrs. Turman resided with her daughter, Mrs. Flora T. Laughlin at their residence corner Locust and Franklin Streets. She was one of Greencastle’s best known ladies and had many friends who will be shocked to hear of her death. She was the daughter of the late Hon. Henry Secrest, and was the widow of Judge Solon Turman, both of the gentlemen having been prominent members of the Putnam County bar. Mrs. Turman was a lady of many noble qualities. The funeral services will occur tomorrow at the family residence at 2 o’clock p.m., the services being conducted by Elder AH Morris.
