Wolcott – Jesse Irving Tillotson, 80, formerly of Brookston died Wednesday Jan 19, 2011 in Cookesville, Tenn. He was born to the late Donald C. Buell and Ruby E. Stultz Tillotson on March 18, 1930 in Wolcott. He was the last of 9 children. He graduated from Brookston HS in 1948. He was in the Army and served in the Korean War as a communication specialist. Upon his return from Korea, he went to work for the railroad and later moved to Bainbridge to run the depot. He moved to Amherst, Mass in 1972. He retired from the Amherst Housing Authority where he was the maintenance supervisor. He and his wife owned and operated JIM Property Management until they sold the business in 2008. He moved from Hadley, Mass in 2008 to Cookesville. He was active in the Boy Scouts was an Eagle Scout and later a master scout. His troop began the tradition of placing flags on veterans’ graves in Bainbridge. He was a member of Cloverdale Squares dance club, Baystate Travelers and American Legion 271 in Hadley. He enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. He was a woodworker. He won awards for his beer and wine. He enjoyed traveling in his RV. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Tillotson and a daughter Phetney (husband Joe) of Cookesville. Burial will be at a later date in Massachusetts.
