THOMPSON, Bertha Payne - Putnam

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Chastain funeral home here for Bertha Thompson, 50, who died Sunday at the Putnam county hospital following a brief illness with pneumonia. Burial was made in Roachdale cemetery. Mrs. Thompson was born near Lizton April 27, 1890, a daughter of John and Nancy Kersey Payne. She was married to Cleo Thompson. Survivors include two sisters; Mrs. John Summers of near here and Mrs. Bertha Hudelston and four brothers; Omer Payne of Lafayette, Harry Payne of Lebanon, Elmer Payne of Anderson and Alonzo Payne of Indianapolis    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for donating her wonderful Roachdale Times obituary file for use on this site.
