Artie C. Collings Thatcher, 100, Pittsboro, (note: born in Putnam County 23 Jan 1903) died March 10, 2003. She worked 25 years for George Hitz & Co (Produce Wholesale), Indianapolis and the US Railroad Retirement Board retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Pittsboro Christian Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsboro Christian Church Fellowship Hall or Sheltering Wings c/o Pittsboro Christian Church.  Services 11 a.m. March 19 at Pittsboro Christian Church.  Burial private.  Arrangements handled by: David A. Hall Mortuary.  Mrs. Thatcher was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Thatcher and her parents Joe S.  and Ethel M. Gossa Collings. Surviving relatives include Prudence Gossa Beers, Meghan and Rachel Beers and special friend Ann LaFoe.
