James S. Sweet, 81 of Rt 1, Cambridge City died Friday at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Ind.  A registered professional engineer, Mr. Sweet was employed as a project engineer for the Indiana State Highway Department. He also founded JS Sweet Co in 1949.  Born in Greencastle, Ind, he attended Purdue University in 1927.  He was a member of Alph Tau Omega fraternity; Orange Masonic Lodge 234 in Orange, Ind; Scottish Rite in Indianapolis; a Knights of Pythias in Indianapolis. He also was on the board of directors of Indiana Constructors, Inc.  He was a captain in the Army during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater. On May 7, 1927, he married Lucille Reinhardt, who survives.  Also surviving are two daughters Carole Ann Market of Milton, Ind and Mary Ellen Grossman of Columbus, Ind; one son, James S. Sweet Jr. of Cambridge City and a sister, Martha Ader of Indianapolis. - kbz
