Greencastle – Services for former Putnam County prosecutor Roy C. Sutherlin, 84 will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home with calling from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Sutherlin died Tuesday. He practiced law from 1936-1988 retiring from the Sutherlin & Zeiner law firm. From 1934-1936 he was attorney for the Homeowners Loan Corp of Fort Wayne. He served as Greencastle city attorney and judge and was legal counsel for the city’s planning and zoning boards and Greencastle and South Putnam schools. He was a founding director of the Greencastle Airport Board and first director of the Putnam County Civil Defense agency. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and Indiana University School of Law. He was a member of the Putnam County Indiana and American bar associations.  Mr. Sutherlin was a member of First Christian Church, Temple Masonic Lodge 47; Elks Lodge 1077; Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club, all at Greencastle and Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the church’s Memorial Endowment Fund. Survivors: wife Lenore Ruark Sutherlin; daughters Nancy Lee Feller, Rea Jean Zeiner, Becky Anne Trott, Sally F. Harkness; son Stephen W. Sutherlin; 9 grandchildren four great grandchildren.  – kbz
