Ed Sutherland, a young man from Terre Haute was instantly killed at Portland Mills on Tuesday evening. In company with his brother, he was driving a spirited horse when they met an automobile. The horse ran away, destroying the vehicle opposite the James Nelson place and killing Sutherland instantly. Funeral services were held at the home of a sister, Mrs. Hazlett who lives southwest of town on Wednesday evening. – kbz
