Charleston, Ill, Feb 6 – Leon Sublette of Flint, Mich, a former resident of Charleston, died Friday in a Flint Hospital. He recently had an operation in which his stomach was removed and replaced by the stomach of a sheep and for several days physicians thought he would recover.  Mr. Sublette was born 52 years ago in Greencastle, Ind, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sublette.  He came to Charleston as a young man and obtained a job as a trainman on the Nickel Plate railroad. Leaving here, he first went to Villa Grove where he was employed as a conductor on the C&EI railroad before accepting a position with an automobile manufacturer in Flint. He married Miss Carrie Tremble 29 years ago. She and 7 children: James Sublette, Kenneth Sublette, Donald Sublette, Miss Virginia Sublette, Miss Frances Sublette, Miss Kathleen Sublette and Miss Wilma Sublette, all at home survive. Roy and Clifford Sublette of Charleson are brothers and Mrs. Grace Rogers of Charleston is a sister. – kbz
