Rockville, Ind Dec 14 - The
grand jury called to investigate the killing of James T. Sturgeon, the wealthy
farmer and stock dealer on Nov 30 by Harry Porter, a 16-year-old boy, reported
without returning an indictment against the lad. The court ordered the prisoner
discharged. The boy's father was in the courtroom and clapped his hands for
joy, while tears streamed down his cheeks. – kbz

Sturgeon was released Saturday afternoon, the grand jury after a thorough
investigation failed to find a bill against him. It seems that the public
sentiment was almost unanimously in sympathy with the boy. - kbz
