DEATH OF A GOOD MAN

Roachdale has again been called to give up another of her good citizens.  This time in the death of Clay Stultz, son of John and Mary Stultz. His death occurred Saturday, Jan. 20 at 8 o'clock in the morning at the age of 34 years and 25 days, after an illness of a week. His demise was due to pneumonia.  All that loving relatives and friends could do for him was done but of no avail. He was born Dec. 26, 1882, on the farm two miles southeast of Fincastle, where his parents now reside.  He leaves to mourn a father, mother, six brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends. Three sisters have preceded him in death. While in

his teens he learned the blacksmith trade and by persistent effort became very skillful in his chosen line of work and was recognized as one of the useful and substantial citizens in the community. Clay had no acquaintance but who was his friend, and as the poet has said, "An honest man is the noblest work of God," then surely here was a noble man.  The funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev. A. S. Mayhall.  Burial in Hartman Cemetery.
