Greencastle, Ind Sept 18 – Dr. Charles N. Stroube, 75, a prominent physician of Putnam County died suddenly at his office in Roachdale Sunday morning. He had been working as usual and was stricken while waiting on a patient. Dr. Stroube had practiced medicine in north Putnam County since graduating from medical college in 1897. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Putnam County Medical Society and the Rochdale Christian Church. He is survived by the widow, two daughters and a son. – kbz

Stroube, Charles N. Dr.  Final Rites were held Wednesday at 2 pm at the Roachdale Christian Church for Dr. Stroube, 75, well known Roachdale physician who died suddenly in his private office Sunday.  Burial was made in the Roachdale Cemetery.  Dr. Stroube suffered a heart attack while attending a patient in his office.  He graduated from Medical College in 1897 and started to practice medicine at New Maysville. However he had been located in Roachdale since 1904.  Dr. Stroube was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church, Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite and The Putnam County Medical Association.  He was born about five miles southwest of Greencastle 26 April 1869, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver J. Stroube. He was united in marriage to Lillian Maude Osborne 7 October 1894. Besides the wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ross Richardson, Bloomington, Mrs. David Johnson, Harlingen, Texas, a son Reed Stroube, Gary, Indiana, two sisters, Ida Pollom and Mrs. E. R. Bartley, both of Greencastle, a brother Earl P. Stroube of Indianapolis and four grandchildren. - msw
