STRANGE, Charles Emmit - Putnam

Charles E. Strange, aged 62, of 814 Marietta Street died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday in Mayo Bros Clinic, Rochester Minn after several months’ illness.  He was born in Greencastle, Ind July 28, 1883 and came here 35 years ago from Greencastle. On July 23, 1938 in South Bend, he married Mrs. Amy Sparks who survives. Other survivors are three stepsons: Blondell and Maurice Strange both of South Bend and Themis Sparks, Warsaw, Ind; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen Smith, South Bend; Mrs. Sophia Ayres, Inglewood, Calif; Mrs. June Meyers, Peru, Ind; Mrs. Clara Meyers, Bedford, Ind and Mrs. Edna Meldrum, Toronto, Canada; two step grandchildren and a half sister, Mrs. Blanche Guthrie, Kendallville, Ind. Friends may call in the Hay Funeral Home tonight and until funeral services there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Frank E. Davison, Pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn cemetery. – kbz
