To the Journal, New Ross, Feb. 13 Mrs. Nancy M. Stoner, fifty-six years old, died at her home here this morning at 11:45 o'clock after an illness of two years' duration with heart trouble and goitre [sic] Mrs. Stoner had been a resident of Montgomery county all her life, having been born near Parkersburg, January 26, 1851. She was married to S. [sic should be F.] M. Stoner on February 10, 1870. They lived on a farm until two years ago, when they moved to New Ross. Since their coming here Mrs. Stoner had been in ill health. Mrs. Stoner is survived by her husband, one son, Curtis Stoner of near New Ross, two daughters, Mrs. Stella Chambers, of near New Ross and Mrs. Emma Duke, of Mahomet, Ill., six brothers, John I. Powell of Apache, Okla., Elmer Powell of Danville, Ind., Messor and William Powell of New Ross, Charles Powell of State Line, Ill., and Newton Powell of Bainbridge, one sister, Mrs. Melvina Byrd of Crawfordsville, and three half sisters, Mrs. Bettie Bowman, Mrs. Eliza Miller and Matilda Stewart of New Ross. Mrs. Stoner had been a member of the Christian church since childhood and was a true, religious woman. Funeral services will be held from the Christian church here at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in charge of Rev. Lough of Waynetown.
