Mary Elizabeth Plummer was born in Greencastle, Indiana Aug 8, 1842 and passed from this life at Luray, Kansas Jan 8, 1924, aged 81 years and 4 months. She was united in marriage to Clairbourne Stone of Westmoreland, Kansas July 31, 1870 and these were faithful companion of life until death called the husband June 24, 1923.  To this union were born the following children: Nora E, Melbourne, Martha A and Laura. Laura Stone Wolfkill preceded her parents to the Glory World, crossing over the river of eath in August 1907.  The following children and relatives remain to mourn their great loss and to follow the body of their loved one to its last resting place: Nora E. Wolfkill, husband and children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Melbourne, wife and children: Martha A. Force and husband and Laura’s two daughter, Beulah and Laura.  Mary E. Stone was a member of the Christian Church was a conscientious Christian and remained faithful until er God called her home. Mr. Stone was a pioneer business man of Wheaton where the great part of their married life was spent. However, Westmoreland had been their home for the past 15 years. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Stone had made her home with her son, Melbourne at Atchison, Kansas. For several years she had been in failing health, being afflicted with asthma and had lately contracted a light cold which she was unable to throw off. She had come to visit her daughter, Mrs. JS Force, arriving only on Dec 27th where her affliction took a turn for the worse and double pneumonia caused her death Jan 8 at 9:05 a.m. The body was taken to Westmoreland where funeral services were held and burial was in the cemetery at Wheaton. – kbz
