By accepting an offer of $4,500 from
the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for the death of her husband, Floyd Alexander
Stockwell, who died July 1 of injuries suffered in a railroad accident while in
the employ of the railroad company, Mrs. Roxie M. Stockwell, administratrix of
his estate, has relieved the railroad from all further liability, according to
a compromise and settlement reached in the Putnam Circuit court this week. Mrs. Stockwell agreed to accept an offer of
the railroad company to compromise for the sum of $4,500 and filed a bond of
$5,000 to insure legal administration of her husband’s estate. Mr. Stockwell died in a Crawfordsville
Hospital shortly after being injured in an accident while employed as a section
hand by the railroad, it was said.
