STIGLER, David - 1881 - Putnam

On Thursday Aug 11, Messrs TL Matkin; John T. McCullough and David Stigler were driving along the Poland Road south of Reelsville, when their horse ran away, throwing all three of them from the buggy.  Messrs. Matkin and McCullough were not seriously injured but Stigler received injuries of the spine which proved fatal on the following Sunday. Dr. Hinton was called to render the surgical aid necessary and did all he could to alieviate the sufferings of the injuredman. Deceased was generally respected, and leaves a wife and several children to mourn his untimely death.
