Mrs. Washington Stewart died Monday afternoon at her home in Banner Township at the age of 85 years.  She had been in poor health for some time and her death was not unexpected by her family and friends.  Mrs. Stewart, whose maiden name was Hulda Ann Wright, was born in Greencastle, Indiana on Feb 8, 1832.  On Feb 24, 1854, she was united in marriage to Washington Stewart and was the mother of eight children, four of whom are living.  In 1864 she moved to Nebraska, later to Kansas and for a number of years her home was four miles northwest of Smith Centre.  Two years ago she moved to her late home in Banner township.  At the age of 19 years, Mrs. Stewart united with the Baptist Church and was a strict adherent to that faith the remainer of her life.  Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from  the home, conducted by Rev. Wade, pastor of the First Baptist Church of this place and burial was in the Athol cemetery.

Card of Thanks – We sincerely thank the neighbors and friends for their kind assistance and sympathy through our time of grief and trouble – Washington Stewart and Family
