Services for former Greencastle mayor and high school teacher, Harold W. Stewart, 87, Greencastle will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle with calling from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. He died Tuesday. Mr. Stewart taught for 42 years at Greencastle HS where he was the founder of the Diversified Cooperative Education Program. Previously, he taught one year in Greenfield. From 1965-66 he served as an Indiana State Representative. He was mayor of Greencastle from 1948-1952. He was an elder emeritus and member of First Christian Church, Greencastle and a graduate of Indiana State University. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund. Survivors: wife, Freydis Cox Stewart; daughter, Susan S. Rice; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
