STEEN, Gordon Nickalie - Putnam

ROACHDALE -- Gordon Nickalie Steen, 91, of Roachdale, who owned and operated Steen's Antiques in Roachdale for several years, died Sunday in Hendricks County Hospital at Danville.

He was a cheesemaker in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana before opening the antique shop.

He was born in Modum, Norway, on April 2, 1887. He was married to Jennie Richardson on Feb. 24, 1915. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Ruby Hankins of Lizton, Ruth Glenn of Montezuma and Berneice Robbins of Roachdale; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Perkins Funeral Home at Roachdale with the Rev. Homer Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight.
