STEELE, Lawrence Maurice - Putnam

Services for Lawrence M. Steele, 78, Indianapolis will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stevens Chapel of the Flowers where friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today.  He died Wednesday in Methodist Hospital.  He owned Steele’s Food Market, 4150 W Washington St from 1950-1960. He also did maintenance work several years for Wayne Township Schools.  A native of Bainbridge, he had lived here since 1925 and was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church and Chapel Rockets retirees club. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Steele; two daughters, Dawn Sheets and Jean Hamilton and a stepson, Ronald Morris. Memorial contributions may be made to the youth group at the church. – kbz
