STEDMAN, SS - Putnam

At 2 o’clock Thursday occurred the funeral services of the late SS Stedman who died on Thanksgiving day at 8:30 at his home on east College street. Mr. Stedman has been ill for a long time with cancer of the stomach but was not confined to his home until recently.  He was a leading contractor and has lived here for nearly a score of years. He was a sterling democrat in politics and thoroughly honest and upright citizen. He had many friends here who mourn his death. He was 65 years of age and was the father of LB Stedman and Mrs. William Hulet who with his wife survive him.  He was a mason and was buried at the masonic cemetery by the Bainbridge lodge of which he was a member.
