Emma M. McCray (Stump) Grimes Stanforth

Thursday, June 18, 1936 – Mrs. Emma M. Stanforth, wife of Rev. C. B. Stanforth, who is supplying at the Federated Church in Russellville was taken ill while attending church on Sunday, June 7. She was taken to Culver Hospital where she died on the following Thursday. Funeral services in Crawfordsville on Saturday afternoon were in charge of Rev. H. Earl Moore. Burial at Oak Hill.

She is survived by the husband and one son, Will Stump (sic). Mr. Stanforth was in charge of the Methodist Church here and retired from the ministry to a small farm near Smartsburg where his first wife died shortly after. He married Mrs. Emma GRIMES, Oct 24, 1935. She was the daughter of Willis and Louisa McCray and was born Sept 28, 1863, and was first married to Elmer Grimes, now deceased, 1883.
