STALEY, Lyle Earl - Putnam

Greencastle - Lyle Earl Staley, 75 of Greencastle died Feb 12, 2005 at the Waters of Greencastle. Mr. Staley owned and operated Armstrong Shoe Store in Noblesville for several years, retiring in 1993. Before that he was manager at the JC Penny Store in Greencastle. He was born Oct 17, 1929 in Duluth, Minn the son of Earl and Alma (Anderson) Staley. He was a graduate of Duluth HS and a US Air Force veteran. He married Mary Guthrie in 1976 and she survives. Mr. Staley was a member of Greencastle Christian Church and the American Legion in Greencastle. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Staley of VIrginia; three daughters and a son-in-law, Lavonne Norvell; Kristine Staley and Adrienne and Jerry Ogle, all of Noblesville; a sister, Marcie Freeman of Port Charlotte, Fla and 12 grandchildren. A sister, Carol Chambers preceded him in death. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greencastle Christian Church. The Rev. Mark Miller will officiate.
