Albert V. “Sticks” Staley, of Cloverdale died from natural causes at 8:48 a.m. Sept 9, 1994 at Putnam County Hospital.  Born April 5, 1901 in Putnam County, he was the son of Sampson and Clara E. Vaughan Staley, both deceased.  He married Imo McAvoy April 25, 1923. She survives.  Mr. Staley was owner/operator of Staley Trucking for 40 years.  He was a breeder of Shetland ponies and worked for the France Stone Co for 17 years. Other survivors include a sister, Eva Merl Kenney, Cloverdale RR 3; a brother, Ivel B. “Cotton” Staley, Stilesville, RR 1 and a former son-in-law and wife, Fred and Ruth Sargent of Cloverdale who were his caretakers. - kbz
