SPAULDING, Hazel E - Putnam

Hazel Elinore Spaulding, 80, died Thursday at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Whiteland. She was born Sept 3, 1915 in Greencastle to Charles B. and Sarah M. (Gibbs) Slavens. She married Cyrus T. Spauling on Nov 13, 1942; he preceded her in death Aug 17, 1953.  Survivors include two daughters, P. Coliene Moore of Whiteland and Wanda K. Evans of Palm Beach, Fla; a son, Marvin A. Evans of Eben Junction, Mich; two sisters, Norma Walton of Brazil, Ind and Dorothy Smith of Greencastle; two brothers, Harold Slavens of Indianapolis and Lloyd Slavens of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was employed by Kenney Shoes in Indianapolis for 40 years, retiring in 1978 as a sales clerk. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
