SNODDY, John McNeal

Source: Greencastle Herald 6 Feb 1912 p 1

John McNeal Snoddy, inmate of the county house who since he was 14 years of age had been struck by lightning on three different occasions, died Monday afternoon.  The funeral was held at the county house this morning and burial in the Snoddy cemetery about two miles south of Stilesville.  Snoddy was about 62 years of age.  He had no known relatives.  Snoddy had been almost helpless since he was struck by lightning in Kansas when about 14 years of age.  About 16 years later, while he was making his home in Iowa, he was again struck down by lightning.  He partially recovered from the accident and came to this county where at the time he had relatives.  He soon went to the county house to make his home and at that place about 16 years ago he was struck a third time by lightning. The last time he was struck the accident left him in such a crippled condition that he was confined to his bed from then until his death.   ---transcribed by kbz
