SMYTHE, Dr. Albert - Putnam

Word was received here today of the death of Dr. Albert Smythe, age 72 years which occurred in the home of his son, OE Smythe in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  His death followed an illness of pneumonia.  Dr. Smythe was born in Putnam County, the son of WD Smythe, deceased, a former prominent resident of Putnam County and a nephew of Dr. GC Smythe also deceased and a sister, Mrs. Mary Smythe Dane of Memphis Tenn.  Dr. Smythe was buried in Jonesboro.  He was married a second time this wife dying about a year ago.  After her death he made his home with the son.    ---transcribed by kbz
