SMITHSON, Roy - WWI Vet - Putnam

Havre – Smithson, Roy, 73, St. Cloud, Fla a retired Hogeland area farmer and rancher died in the Veterans Administration Hospital at St. Petersburg, Fla. Smithson was born at Putnamville, Ind. He was married in 1917 at Indianapolis to the former Ora L. Haymaker who died in 1929.  Survivors include three sons, George of Moses Lake, Washington; William of Somers and John of Havre; two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Louise) Divish of Havre and Mrs. Ralph (Jean) Shawlee of San Bernardino, Calif; a brother, Ross of Columbia Falls and several sisters in Indiana. He was a member of American Legion at Hogeland and the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Harlem.  He served with the Army during World War I.- kbz
