William H. SMITH, well known county resident died at his home Friday afternoon following a two week illness of a complication of diseases. Mr. Smith's death occurred at 4:30 o'clock and came at the home 2 1/2 miles south of the city on the Greencastle Rd. The deceased was born July 23, 1847 in Putnam Co. He was a member of the Christian Church at Parkersburg. Mr. Smith had lived practically his entire life in Montgomery County and for many years had been engaged in farming. Those surviving are his widow and five children: Mrs. Pearl Brann of Lapland; Mrs. Thurman Blaydes, Ladoga; Artie L. Smith of Indianapolis; Clarence Smith and Mrs. Everett Layson of Crawfordsville; one brother, John W. Smith, south of Crawfordsville and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon with Rev. JH Wilson in charge; burial in Masonic Cemetery.
