BAINBRIDGE – Mrs. Thelma, T. Smith, 69, Rt. 1, Bainbridge, died Tuesday night in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. Active in church work and civic affairs, she was a member of the Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star No. 440, Community Service Club and American Legion Auxiliary. She was born Jan. 15, 1901, at Hopkinsville, Ky., a daughter of Hiram and Sarah Emberton Harris. She married Frank Smith Nov. 22, 1919. Survivors incude the husband, two sons, Paul of Bainbridge and Robert of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Bennett of Mellott, Mrs. Alice Buser of Muncie and Mrs. Ethel Pollitt and Mrs. Irene Dixon, both of Danville, Ill.; a brother, Benton Harris of Catlin, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bainbridge Christian Church with Rev. Kenneth Cook officiating. Interment will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hopkins-Walton Home at Bainbridge after 7 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
