SMITH, Rebecca D. Grimes - Putnam

Russellville – Mrs. Rebecca D. SMITH, 77, died at her home here Saturday morning following an illness of more than a year. Death was due to old age. The deceased was a life-long resident of this place, having been born here Sept 23, 1853, the daughter of George & Martha Grimes. She was married on Oct 4,1 883, to William H. Smith, who died a number of years ago.

Mrs. Smith prior to her marriage was a school teacher for several years. She was a member of the Federated Church here and Woman’s Relief Corps.

Survivors are two sisters: Mrs. William Nichols and Mrs. Thomas Walden of Russellville; a step grandson, Raymond Carson, Indianapolis and two nieces and three nephews.

The funeral services will be held at Federated Church, Russellville Sunday afternoon 2:30 in charge of Rev. HL Todd, Indianapolis. Burial will take place in Russellville Cemetery.
