SMITH, Perry H - Putnam

Perry H. Smith of Floyd Township, Putnam County, Ind departed this life June 18, 1890. Was over 85 years of age.  He was buried at Palestine Church in the presence of many friends and relatives.  Brother Smith was born in Virginia June 4, 1805.  At the age of 14 he went to Ohio and in one year he went to Fayette County, Ind and there Nov 1, 1827, he married Miss Mary Lewis, who ever remained his faithful wife till death took her March 8, 1886.  In 1834 PH Smith and family moved to Clinton township, Putnam County and in 1851 he moved to his last residence in Floyd Township. To them were born four sons and four daughters of whom but three daughters survive.  PH Smith became a member of the ME Church about the year 1828.  -kbz
