SMITH, John O. - Putnam

John O. Smith, aged 67, a resident of Roachdale, died at St. Vincent's Hospital at 4 a.m. Saturday, death being due to complication which followed an operation which he underwent last Monday. He had been in ill health for almost a year.

Mr. Smith was born in Kentucky, but came to Boone County when a boy and for several years made his home with Capt. John A. Brown, father of J.C. Brown of Lebanon. He was married to Nancy Edwards who with one son, Walter Smith of North Salem survives him.

The funeral was held at the residence at Roachdale Monday morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. Cornelius Airhart officiating. The body was interred at the Lebanon Cemetery at Roachdale    --- kbz
