SMITH, Ila Z - Putnam

Laporte – Graveside services for Mrs. Ila Z. Smith, 88 of LaPorte, who died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday at the LaPorte Hospital will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday Dec 28 at Stilesville Cemetery of Stilesville, Ind. The Cutler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  She was born Oct 16, 1893 in Hendricks County, Ind. She moved to LaPorte in 1942 coming from Greencastle. On March 21, 1918 in Greencastle she married Roland F. Smith.  He died Sept 9, 1951. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Joy Smith and Mrs. Wallace (Judy) Gallop, both of LaPorte and Mrs. George (Jane) Carnahan of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Dice of Crawfordsville, Ind. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Greencastle. – kz
