GW Smith son of RL Smith died at his
residence near Clear Creek on Thursday April 12, 1894 of lung disease in the
45h year of his age. He was sick for a number of weeks, but bore his sufferings
with patience and fortitude. He leaves a
wife, an aged brother, two daughters, a son and host of friends and relatives
to mourn his demise. Deceased was a kind father, a loving husband and good son,
always ready and willing to administer to the wants and desires of his family
and neighbors. The funeral which was largely attended took place on Friday
evening at 3 o’clock, Elder Huff of North Salem conducting the services. His
death is widely and deeply deplored.
