SMITH, Eugene Max - WWII Vet

Funeral services for Eugene M. Smith, 41 years old, 3750 Kercheval Drive who was shocked fatally Sunday while pumping rainwater from his back yard will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Harry W. Moore Arlington Chapel.  Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery.  Mr. Smith, a supervisor at the post office, was a veteran of WWII and member of the Federal American Legion Post.  He was also a member of North Park Masonic Lodge, Pal Booster Club and the National Federated Craft of Indianapolis. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Norma L. Smith; his mother, Mrs. Floy E. Obencahin of Indianapolis; his father, Frank Smith of Bainbridge; two daughters, Sandra and Tina Smith and three sons, Timmy, Thomas, and Eugene M. Smith II all at home; five brothers, Fred, Garth and Howard Obenchain of Indianapolis, Paul Smith of Bainbridge and Robert Smith of Crawfordsville and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Morris of Springfield, Ill; Mrs. Alice Mahoney of Greencastle and Mrs. Martha Collett of Bainbridge.
