Smith Smiley, young man well known in Greencastle and Putnam County died last night at 9 o’clock at the residence of Joseph Steart, where he was boarding. He had been seriously sick for some time with pneumonia and other complications but his immediate death was caused by congestion of the brain. He was about 40 years of age. The funeral will occur tomorrow at 10 o’clock at the residence of the deceased’s father, Capt JJ Smiley on North College Avenue. – kbz
