Burse Skaggs, 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. D Skaggs, residing on the Longden farm in Clinton Township died at the County Hospital Saturday night at 8:30 o’clock after a short illness of blood poisoning. He was taken to the hospital last Wednesday but his condition steadily grew worse until death occurred. Blood poisoning developed from a bruise on the leg caused when the boy dropped an arm full of stove wood. Little attention was paid to the injury and medical attention was sought too late. Funeral services were Monday morning at 10 o’clock at the Baptist Church in Clinton township with burial in a nearby cemetery. Besides the parent, three other children also survive. – kbz
