SIMS, Joie Thomas - Putnam

New Castle – Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Macer Funeral Home for Joie Thomas Sims, 71, 1101 S 25th St who died Wednesday in the Henry County Hospital following an illness of several weeks. Burial will be in Southmound Cemetery. A native of Putnam County, Mr. Sims had been a section hand foreman for the Monon Railroad, retiring in 1959. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Quincy. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Argyle Smith, with whom he made his home; Mrs. Leroy Hayden of Brooklyn; three sons, Leonard, Attica; Joseph, Indianapolis and James of Valley Mills; two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Sims of Stilesville and Mrs. Dovis Mae May, Greencastle and one half brother, Harry Parr of Stilesville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. - kbz
